OUR STORY

BETTER TASTING BEEF

David Sanders formed Sanders Cattle Company in 1987. David grew up following his grandfathers passion for farming and although David likened the beef cattle to his grandfather’s passion for dairy. He nonetheless had the same kind of passion for change and innovation. David was an order buyer for thirty-two years and ten years prior to that was the general manager of another order buyer facility. The company is run today by his three children Leslie, Scott, and Will.

Recently a new opportunity has presented itself for they’re to be a new division of the business. Welcome Home Beef was born in July of this year. The cattle had always been shipped to customers and that was the end of the process. Now the Sanders Family is bringing some of the cattle back in order to sell non GMO USDA Prime Beef to the Starkville Community. Southern cattle are purchased from the Sanders Family and Shipped to another local family to be finished. The cattle always stay between two families and the taste will demonstrate the difference.

The I-9 feedlot in Glenville Nebraska is run by the Imler family and is a large part of this operation. Matt and Chad Imler have been growing non GMO- Free corn and feeding cattle for fifteen years. Chad is the farming expert and Matt designs the feeding rations around their “home grown” ingredients. The two families are working together to produce beef that not only tastes great, but also is also healthy and will leave you wanting to order more.

WHAT WE DO

Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics,

a large language ocean.

We buy cattle from a seven state region and feed them in Nebraska at a small family farm where all the feed ingredients are grown right there on 3000 acres around the feedyard.  It is a third party certified non gmo yard and no synthetic hormones are ever administered.  We currently feed enough cattle to provide around 10,000 lbs of beef to the local market every week; however, we have the capacity to double that number.
